Fun Weekend!

We went to visit Felicia, Henry and Ollie again this weekend, and even though the duck throwing party was canceled, we still had lots of fun!!

Baloo and Ollie are BFFs and played like gangbusters, barely stopping to take a breath all weekend! Luckily Henry was there to act as fun police and keep the two rowdy ones in line.

We went out to a local park sunday morning and had lots of fun playing with some other dogs that were there, and got some good pictures.

Bird dog training!

We drove down to London to visit with Felicia and Henry and Ollie, and go to a fun picnic trial where we got to use real birds! And, Baloo was introduced to his very first live pigeon! It was a ton of fun, and he did GREAT, true to his retriever blood! ;)

Brand New Nurse!!

Baloo finished his Rally Novice title on September 27th, 2008 at the Ancaster show! I'm extremely excited because it's a "first" for both of us!

So, he is now officially "Atkinsday's Bear Necessities RN CGN". Whoo hoo!!!

He was also *this* close to getting his pre-novice obedience title as well, but he layed down on the very last sit-stay. *Sigh*, Oh Baloo!! Ah well, we'll get 'em next time. ;)

Adventure in Amherst!

Baloo's second trial was in Amherst, NY (first time I've ever taken a pet across the border!) He did really well, got two legs towards his American RN and took FIRST place in one of the trials with a score of 96! Personal best for us. So far. ;)

He also debuted in the obedience ring in pre-novice, and did better than expected.

Baloo's very first trial was in Pefferlaw on August 9th, 2008, at a Petting Zoo/Farm.

He did really well considering, and got his first two legs towards his rally novice title!

It had been pouring rain and we were both soaked, so he did awesome, considering. :D

I wanted to create a space where I could keep track of Baloo's various adventures in the show ring, to keep friend's and family up-to-date and to serve as a scrapbook of sorts, as I've never been artistic enough to put together an actual scrapbook.

So here we go! This is going to have to be a learn-as-I-go type thing, as I've never blogged before. Bear with me! ;)
